THE BEST PLACE TO VISIT IN POKHARA:
Phewa Lake: This is the most attraction in Pokhara. This is the second largest and most enchanting of three lakes that add to the resplendence of Pokhara. Here, a beautiful color combination that is created by the wooden boats and paragliders that are sailing and rowing over the lake, which is the highlights of your travel experience in Pokhara.
Barahi Temple: Bahari temple is also known as “Lake Temple or Tal Barahi”. The most important monument in Pokhara. This is a two story pagoda temple located in the Center of Phewa Lake. It is a hindu temple of the Goddess Durga, the protector of gods.
Devi’s Fall: This is a lovely waterfall, approximately 150 meter long and run 30 meter below ground level. It is also called Patale Chango in the Nepalese language. On 31 July 1961, a swiss couple by the name Davi were swimming in the spot when the wife drowned in a pit because of the overflow. Her body was recovered 3 days later in river. Then Devi’s father was called and he immediately came to Pokhara. As her father wished to give the name “Devi’s Falls” to Patale Chhango.
Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave: Located close to Davis Fall. The cave was discovered in the 16th century. The main cave contains two chambers with several shrines located throughout. One of these shrines is dedicated to Shiva. There is a proper light installed in the cave for easy walk. Inside the cave there is a crystal clear pond and from here you can see the awe-inspiring Devi’s falls falling right from the top.
Bindhyabasini Temple: This is one of the oldest temples in the Pokhara valley. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagawati who is the incarnation of Kali or Durga, There are other small temples of goddess Saraswati, Lord Shiva, Hanuman, Lord Krishna and Ganesha in the premises. Bindhyabasini Temple was established in B.S 1845 since then this goddess is worshipped daily. Even the tourists visits at least once there. This temple is one of the most important holy places for the Hindu people.
Sarangkot: The most popular tourist destination where the tourist can enjoy the great view of the Pokhara valley and the magnificent view of the mountains. Sarangkot is at an altitude of 1592 meters and only 5 km from Lake Side, Pokhara. It is the best view point for a sunrise and sunset. On the northern direction we can see Dhaulagiri in the far west. Annapurna range is visible when the weather is clear on the same side. From here, you can see the panoramic Himalayan view of Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Annapurna and Manaslu.
World Peace Stupa: World Peace Stupa is a Buddhist pagoda style monument situated on a hilltop overlooking the Phewa Lake. This Stupa is also known as Shanti Stupa. World Peace Stupa was constructed by Buddhist monks from the Japanese Nipponzan Myohoji organization. Peace Stupa offers spectacular views of the Annapurna range and Lake Phewa. There are different hiking trails, cycling tracks and the blacked topped road to the Stupa. There is interesting hiking route, crossing the Phewa Lake by a local boat and then climbing uphill through local villages which takes approximately one hour.
