Tibet the “roof of the world” covered in lofty peaks and snow-capped mountains, is the highest region on Earth, with an average elevation of 5,000 m (16,000 ft). Tibet is rich in its ethnicity, art and music. The festivals celebrated in the country are unique from the rest of the world having their own variations and rituals which are unique from any other. Buddhism is the indigenous religion due to which many beautiful monasteries can be found throughout the country. The architectures and arts are heavily influenced by Buddhism, mainly depicting immaculate sculptures and portraits of Lord Buddha along with his teachings. Filled with soaring high mountains, arid valleys and pristine mountain lakes, Tibet is a heaven for adventurers as well as pilgrims.  

Lhasa, the capital city is incredible in so many ways, the Jokhang Temple, the holiest and the spiritual centre of Tibet is amazing. Other important sites in Lhasa include the Potala Palace, which dominates the skyline. This 1000 room palace of art is the most iconic structure in Tibet. Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and NorbuLingkha palace are recommended places to visit while in Lhasa. Along with Lhasa, the two cities that are most visited are Shigatse and Gyantse. TashiLhunpo Monastery in Shigatse and Palcho Monastery, Kumbum Stupa in Gyantse are among the most visit places in Tibet.

The outstanding view of Yamdrok Lake from 4700+ meter high pass of Kamba La in between Lhasa to Gyantse is simply mind blowing. The holy lake is famous for its turquoise-colored water and for the distant view of the holy mountain Kangtsang.The excellent view of Mount Everest from Rongbuk Monastery on the way to Everest Base Camp is another highlight that you could not afford to miss while in Tibet.
