Pashupatinath Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site): About 5 km north-east from city center from Kathmandu. This is the most sacred and one of the holiest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.  Chronicles indicate the temple’s existence prior to 400 BC but the main sanctuary of Pashupatinath complex was built in 17th century to replace the past one. This famous Temple, renowned for its superb architecture, its two storied Golden roof and four Silver doors.Devotees can be seen taking ritual dips in the holy Bagmati river flowing beside the temple. Cremation of the dead body Hindus/Buddhist takes place at the bank of Bagmati River at Pashupatinath.
